Georgine A/W 2015

The back-lighting of the runway was dimmed to red before the Georgine’s 2015 A/W Collection hit the runway. The color reflected the tone of the show, red-hot. The the rock music that played in the background was a perfect accompaniment to the curly Afro’d seventies inspired collection. Metallic platform shoes, floor length silk dresses, and shearling bomber jackets took the stage but the show stoppers were the beautiful bright furs. Purple, blue, mustard yellow, and lime green furs were the highlight of the finale for many. Georgine’s mission to create “beautiful chic clothing that every woman will feel great about wearing”  was completed, beautiful, sassy, and elegant, her collection gave us the effortless glamour we love to see on a woman.

Below are a few pictures from the A/W 15′ Georgine show.

John Galliano debut’s his Artisanal collection for Maison Margiela

After four years out of the limelight as the head of his own house, as well as Christian Dior, John Galliano made a very triumphant return Monday night with his first “Artisanal” collection for Maison Margiela.

As Galliano purists held their breath for the debut of his new collection, we were pleasantly surprised to see garments that held Galliano’s classic penchant for grandeur and elegance. A collection filled with Jacquard platforms, feathered headdresses, embroidered and brocard coats was proof positive that Mr. Galliano hasn’t lost his talent for couture wear. For more information on the collection visit http://www.maisonmargiela.com/ .

Courtney Marse

The crescent city of New Orleans is known for it’s Cajun food, jazz music, and voodoo. Not many people know that it has a burgeoning scene of talented painters, sculptors, and even fashion designers.

This past November I got the chance to view a show at the inaugural “Southern Coalition of Fashion & Design” fashion week in New Orleans.  The designer Courtney Marse ,started out in a  field one wouldn’t necessarily correlate with fashion, graphic design.  When speaking with the young designer, she said that her transition into the fashion world was a “slow progression” she began working with fabrics a few years ago and then began experimenting with digital textile printing. I asked about her fashion influences and she  cited that the brand “tibi” with their high end effortless style, was one of her favorites.
