“While designing this Pre-Spring 2020 collection, knowing I would be showing in Sydney, I kept visualizing the remarkable Bondi Beach sunsets. The hour at twilight when the sun is just above the horizon. When its light passes through the sky for a greater distance, illuminating everything around while brightening the faces of those you’re with, the magic hour. It is this compelling moment when the latitude of the sun scatters away the daytime blues and allows the embrace of the warm sunset light to take over. Painting the landscape in countless shades of cabernets, blushes, and tangerines.

With great excitement we will show at the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club. My first time showing in Sydney and I am showing at the first beach club formed in Australia. For this Pre-Spring collection it came naturally while designing it to think about travel. Being with the people I love, crossing new paths in new places, the most beautiful moments when this light of the magic hour takes over. I found so much inspiration when considering the mood, the energy and the colors created from this soft and powerful hour. You can be anywhere at this moment and you’ll feel the warm, exciting, inviting embrace that it achieves.

For Pre- Spring we are introducing new colorways, fabrication combinations, shapes and silhouettes. I shook up existing styles like wide legged satin pants and bias slip dresses, while playing around with new techniques in dip dyeing colored ombré silks and cashmeres. When considering the overall theme of travel within this collection, I was drawn to design a custom luggage print that is seen throughout. I am also incorporating some newly conceptualized color combinations based on the magic hour and what it creates. Altering and mixing shades of coral, cabernet, magenta and afterglow pinks. Throughout the collection are air-like silk dresses, new spins on tailoring, menswear inspired elements, and a new delicate approach to using leather in ultra feminine ways. I am introducing a second custom print this season, an intricate vintage chain print that is a nod to a nostalgic time in Los Angeles when vintage prints were at the utmost popularity. This print is accented perfectly with Oliver Peoples eyewear, another Los Angeles staple. Lastly, we collaborated with jewelry designer, Lisa Corbo, on a custom collection that embodies the feminine and edgy components of my brand beautifully.”
