Why we all should want to be a “Getty Girl”: August Getty Atelier

After floating us into his garden on a cloud of lavender in September with his debut spring collection for 2015, August Getty ushered us into the sleek streets of the night with his Fall 2015 collection. Black Leather was the key to his collection, from dramatic capes to gowns made of flowing trains of leather, August ‘s woman is effortless when it comes to being the undiluted center of attention. Laser cut jumpsuits, two piece sets with peek-a-boo cut outs in the rear, the fall collection had everything a mysterious woman could want. The essence that his collections give off is that of a confident, fearless woman who oozes allure.  When you see his designs, you want to be around the “Getty Girl”, but most importantly, you want to be the “Getty Girl”. Sexy, confident, sassy, and mysterious isn’t that the dream persona of all fashionable women?

Fall ’15 was consistent with the spring collection, flawless. The choices in fabric and silhouettes for each season really told a story, of a confident artist secure in his craft and intelligent enough to take risks, and that is hard to find in new designers. August Getty seems to be truly inspired when designing his collections, and his passion for his craft shows in each garment. It is not often that we get this excited about a new designer, but the self taught Mr. Getty is dominating his game, and as September approaches, we are waiting with bated breath to see what he comes up with next .

The following are pictures from his SS15,and A/W 15′ shows.
